Original German WWII Red Cross Officer Dagger

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This Red Cross Officer's Dagger has good plating throughout the hilt. The plating shows a small amount of patina, with very little wear to the edge areas. The Red Cross langet has a very fine depiction of a raised half closed-winged eagle having a vaulted swas on his breast. The eagle clutches a red cross in his talons.

The cover screw on top of the pommel has not been removed and is still totally corps and tight. The grip of this example is a nice tangerine color and is relatively the same tone throughout. The grip is in perfect condition.

The scabbard is straight throughout and is the type that has the slightly curved edges to the bands. There is some minor wear to the plating mostly on the hanger edge. The reverse of the scabbard appears to have very good plating. The throat of this example is retained by two side mounted dome head screws.

The blade is in good condition. This blade has a fine bright surface with much of the original factory polish cross-grain intact. There is stinging toward the tip. The ricasso is the nickel-plated type which contrasts nicely with the polished finish of the blade itself. The original black leather blade buffer is in place.

This is a very good solid Red Cross officer’s dagger here showing some very mild wear but overall a great piece offer at an affordable price.
