Original Item: Only One Available. This jugend (HJ) Armband is in very good used condition. Unlike many that we have seen, this example definitely was worn over time, so it definitely saw at least some light use in the field. It measures approximately 12 1/2" x 4", and is sewn together at the ends, with a few inches hemmed inside.

The band is red with a white center strip a separate piece of cloth stitched onto the outside. There is also a machine stitch applied HJ diamond with a dyed swas (hook cross). Overall the armband shows age toning and staining, and also has traces of stitches at the edge where it was attached to a uniform.

A very nice HJ Armband, especially if you like examples that have the service used look provided by a bit of period wear.

The HJ or jugend, and often abbreviated as HJ in German, was the youth organization of the NSDAP Party in Germany. Its origins dated back to 1922 and it received the name jugend, Bund deutscher Arbeiterjugend ("HJ, League of German Worker Youth") in July 1926. From 1933 until 1945, it was the sole official youth organization in Germany and was partially a paramilitary organization; it was composed of the HJ proper for male youths aged 14 to 18, the German Youngsters in the HJ (Deutsches Jungvolk in der jugend or "DJ", also "DJV") for younger boys aged 10 to 14, and the League of German Girls (Bund Deutsche Mädel or "BDM").
