Item Description
Original Items: Only these three available. These is a set of four different German WII era holsters, one for the 9mm Luger P08 Pistol, one for 9mm Browning Hi-Power P35 Pistol, and two for 7.65mm Pocket pistols, of which there were numerous in service. These come from a Collection of Pistol Holsters purchased by IMA, some with an old index card enclosed giving the model of the pistol and Serial Number of the pistol originally issued with the holster. This set of four however does not contain any index cards.
The first holster is a black hardshell holster for the P08 Luger, and is of the standard German made type encountered, with a spare magazine compartment on the side. This holster is dated 1941 on the back, under the maker code, and has a faint P08 stamped on the back. Condition of the holster is very good, with all stitching and rivets intact. The leather is soft and supple, and the pull strap to push out the pistol is still intact. There are also some other number markings on the inside and outside.
The second holster is a Black Leather flap top holster with spare magazine compartment to the front, and most likely for the 9mm Browning Hi-Power Pistol, often referred to as the P-35. The rear shows a 1943 date, as well as maker marking cgh and a Waffenamt proof. This holster is in very good used condition, with the expected wear from age and use. The stitching is all intact, the leather soft and supple, with finish wear on the edges. This holster was originally brown, and then dyed black. It also was re-worked at one point, with the original leather belt loops being moved.
The third holster is a Black Leather flap top holster with spare magazine compartment to the front, and is the typical medium size "high-front" holster issued for the many 7.65mm pocket pistols used by officers. This would include the Walther PP, FN Browning 1922, and others. The rear shows a faint maker marking, with a 1940 date.
This holster is in good used condition, and has definitely seen quite a bit of action. The stitching has been partly redone, and the leather is stiff due to age and weathering. Still, it presents well and is solid.
The fourth and final holster is a brown leather "break-away" type flap holster with spare magazine compartment to the front, and is the typical medium-small size "high-front" holster issued for the many of the Smaller 7.65mm and 6.25mm pocket pistols used by officers. The rear shows a 1944 date, as well as maker marking gxy and a Waffenamt proof. This holster is in very good condition, with the expected wear from age. The stitching is all intact, the leather soft and supple, with finish wear on the edges. It does not appear to have been used much, so most of the wear is from storage. Really a quite nice example of this type of holster.
Four original German Officer's Holsters well marked, offered together.
