Original German WWII State Service Flag Captured in Luxembourg during Battle of the Bulge - 150 x 230cm

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This very good condition example of a WW2 German State Service flag, captured during WWII and brought back to the United States. It has clear makers marks on the canvas hoist, halyard loops on each side of the hoist, and the original steel clasps for hanging on a pole or building. The flag is dyed, and still retains excellent color. There is just a bit of staining on the red areas from decades of storage. The flag measures 150cm x 230cm and is nicely maker marked Küpper & Rudolph / KÖLN  and  REISS-SCHUTZ / D. R. G. M., indicating that the design of the flag hoist was registered with the German Trademark office.

With this flag we received the story that came with it: It was removed from a pole in Dommeldange, Luxembourg during the Battle of the Bugle in December 1944. It was brought home by 1st Lt. Donald Leamon, Company D, 318th Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, 80th Infantry Division, 3rd Army.

Flag is such excellent condition with clear markings and a Battle of the Bulge connection are incredibly rare, this is not one to miss!
