Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This 6x25 field glass is pre WWII manufactured and of superior quality to wartime examples. Small field glasses were highly preferred by German officers due to their convenience. This example still has clear optics and leather carry case. It is nicely marked as follows on the central adjustment:
G. Rodenstock
Fernglas 08
No. 18633
München
Condition definitely shows wear, and the diopter adjustments are not currently functional. There is also some chipping to the eyepieces as shown, and the strap is completely absent.
The included leather case is designed to strap to the waist belt and combat suspenders. It still has the original Gebrauchsanweisung für das Fernglas 08 (Instructions for use for the binoculars 08) attached to the inside of the top cover. The leather is in good shape, though the top closure straps have degraded slightly.
Overall a very nice service used example of the classic eye piece for German infantry officers during WWI, complete with the correct case!
