Original Item: Only One Available. In German this is called a PREUßEN GARDE KÜRASSIER OFFICER’S KOLLER, in English we call this a Prussian Cuirassiers Guards Officer Tunic. It is a white elegant Eigentumstück (private purchase) jacket circa 1912 for an officer in the Prussian Regiment Gardes Cuirassiers. It is constructed of heavy white cloth of the finest officer quality. The Kürassier Garde border (Kollerborte) is silver wire fabric with red trimmed borders and a blue backing, which goes the entire length of the front, collar and cuffs.
On the cuffs are large hand-embroidered silver silver wire Litzen. On the shoulders are correct shoulder buttons, with loops for epaulets. The massive slip-on epaulets have silver braid and were only used by field grade officers, with silver border and red trim with correct hatched pattern on each face.
Interior is lined and shows moderate wear. Overall condition is good to very good.

The Guards Cuirassiers (German: Garde-Kürassier-Regiment) were a heavy cavalry regiment of the Royal Prussian Army. Formed in 1815 as an Uhlans regiment, it was reorganized as a cuirassiers unit in 1821. The regiment was part of the Guards Cavalry Division and fought in the Second Schleswig War, the Austro-Prussian War, the Franco-Prussian War and World War I. The regiment was disbanded in September 1919.
