Original Italian WWII Africa Campaign Armored Regiment Lieutenant’s Bustina Field Cap

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. The "Bustina" field cap was originally introduced in 1933 and was worn by both Army and Fascist militia personnel, with minor variations.

This tan field cap features fold down side panels are held together over the crown of the cap by two corresponding hidden snaps. The front visor does not stay folded up like the normal bustinas but instead serves as a ballcap type. To the front is a very fine embroidered gold bullion on black felt background.

The interior is not lined nor does it have the typical leather sweatband. As leather would have been dried out in the hot elements, these caps had cloth sweatbands made from the same type of material as the cap. The cap is marked on the interior with INGRAP and size 57.
