Item Description
Original Item: One Only. This is a very nice example of the rare WWII Italian Fascist Fighting Knife, sometimes called a "Pugio". This example has a 8 1/8 inch steel blade blade with wood grip and steel cross guard, and comes complete with correct steel scabbard and belt clip. The knife is 13 inches in overall length.
Condition of the knife is very good, with the expected wear from service and sharpening. There is some light oxidation on the ricasso and cross guard, as well as a bit on the blade, but nothing major. The edge of the blade has been re-shaped a bit by sharpening, but it has not majorly affected the blade profile. The wooden grip is in very good condition, showing pressure dents from service, but no major damage such as missing chunks or structural cracks. There is a small expansion crack near the middle rivet on one side. The cross guard is a bit loose on the blade, and the leather blade buffer is still present, though worn.
Steel painted scabbard is in good condition, with wear and some small dents. It does not appear to have been repainted, and has under 50% of the original black enamel finish, giving it a great service worn look. There is some light oxidation where the finish is missing. The belt loop is the fixed type, and the knife fits well in the scabbard.
This is an excellent opportunity to pick up a great example of a rare WWII Italian fighting knife. These do not appear very often at all.
