Original Item: Only One Available. The Italian Type 35 (Tipo T 35) was the standard territorial and military gas mask of the REI (Regio Esercito Italiano - Royal Italian Army) from 1935 until the adoption of the M59. This mask was widely issued from 1935 until the early '60s to soldiers, civil protection, firefighters and industries.
This example is from the Pre-WWII period, and has a manual dated 1939, and a filter dated from the same year. It looks to be made by Pirelli, a rubber and tire manufacturer Founded in Milan in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, and still exists to this day. It comes complete with the afore mentioned manual, a carry case, what looks to be a repair kit, and some original waxed paper packaging.
The mask is in good shape, and is marked (STAR) / T.35 / II on the side, indicating a size II, which is also on the case. The rubber of the mask has unfortunately degraded over the past 80 years, so it is unfortunately relatively stiff and somewhat sticky.
