Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is an example of a WWII Imperial Japanese Pocket Compass, as issued to Navigators of the Imperial Japanese Army and Imperial Japanese Navy. The compass has a face diameter of approximately 1 inch. The compass pointer moves easily within the case, and the compass has a locking mechanism on the side of the case which is still functional. This is a rather primitive and easy to use compass. The braided lanyard features a genuine pearl bead. From what we were told, the compass was “liberated” from a Japanese pilot in the Philippines, but with lack of evidence to back that up, your guess is as good as ours.
Overall the compass is in very good condition and it displays nicely..
