Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. This is an extremely scarce piece of Japanese issue field gear, an original “Sniper Net”, a military-issued camouflage body net with original fake foliage tied on. These came in single color and tri-color, and this is one of the scarcer tri-color examples. The net would have been draped over the solider in position for concealment.
Like other pieces or gear of equipment, there were multiple makers and the nets used different gauge strings and patterns. This example appears to have seen extensive service, and has a great amount of wear. There is a large hole in the center of the net, which could have been an intentional hole for the soldier to peek out of, or a tear in the material from years ago. Due to the nature of the piece, it is very difficult to accurately measure, but we have collected a very rough estimate of 43 x 48”.
This is a truly phenomenal piece of Japanese field gear, the first of its kind we have ever had. These do not come onto the market anymore, so we doubt we will see another for a long time. Comes ready for further research and display!
