  • Original Item: One-of-a-kind. Just purchased as part of a large Pacific War private collection. This is a very interesting, as well as very LONG Japanese WWII banner. It measures 127" inches long (10 1/2 feet) with a width of 26 inches. The top has a printed Imperial Japanese Army Cherry Blossom marking, and under this are the Japanese Rising sun military flag on the left, and the standard sun flag on the right. Beneath this is a large red Kanji character, though we have unfortunately been unable to identify it.

Below this are very large Japanese paint markings, so we would assume that this banner was designed to hang on a wall, or possibly off of a building. The top is attached to a pole, which has a gold hanging rope. Unfortunately this banner is so long that our current photo facilities were unable to take a picture that shows the entire banner in one shot.

Definitely an interesting piece of WWII History, ready to research and display!
