Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Only the second example that we have ever had! This is an very good condition totally genuine WW2 Japanese Army paratrooper bayonet, complete with the original steel scabbard. It bears the manufacturer marking of the Toyoda Automatic Loom Works under Nagoya Arsenal supervision on the spine of the grip. The bayonet was issued for use with the Type 100 Submachine Gun, and various Paratrooper Rifles including the Type 100 Paratrooper Rifle.
The blade is approximately 7 7/8 inches long, with an overall length of approximately 12 1/4 inches. The bayonet has a bird head pommel, slightly contoured wood grips, and a straight minimal quillon. The pommel is cleanly serial numbered 8669, under a series prefix we do not recognize. The wood grips are also in very good condition with a few small cracks and chips. The darkly blued blade is in splendid condition with the bluing intact. The scabbard is straight with a few dents on the sides, and some rust spotting on the surface, but nothing major. Most of the blued finish is intact.
Overall a great example of an extremely scarce bayonet offered in very good condition!
