Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Made very much in the U.S. Style, this is a Mexican produced cutlass, as used during the Mexican-American war, which lasted April 25, 1846 until February 2, 1848. It looks a lot like U.S. edged weapons produced circa 1822, but the thumb piece on the grip is distinctively Mexican. It comes with a very nice scabbard, though it definitely looks to be of later manufacture.
Overall condition is very good, with some light staining and specking on the blade, but no major rust. The edge is still nice, and does not have any major dents or nicks. The handle is wrapped black hard rubber, and is still in very good shape, though the wrapping is somewhat degraded. The basket does look to have a bit of a bend to it.
The black finished leather scabbard is in good used condition, with the expected wear from age and use. The finish is still in great shape, and it still has a very nice leather strap to attach it to the saddle.
A great addition to any collection. Ready to display!
