Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available: This is a scarce example of a Continental Flintlock Musket, dating to 1805-1815 and produced expressly for use in the Napoleonic Wars that ravaged Europe at that time. The musket features all brass mounts with a re-enforced hammer on the lock and a brass powder pan. The overall design is similar to the flintlocks used on both sides of the conflict, and is very well executed.
The gun has a fine Beech wood stock, with an overall length of 54" and a barrel length of 39". It probably originates in Northern Europe, Holland, Northern Germany or Scandinavia. In a truly superior condition from many years in storage, no definitive markings other than number 11 on the rear of the barrel, now fully cleaned and ready to display!
