Item Description
Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is an incomplete Flintlock pistol dating from about 1820 originating from the Ottoman Empire. In fact, this pistol has a magnificent early 18th century gold inlaid cannon barrel that appears to have English proof marks (Crown "V"). The barrel is almost 8.5 inches in length not including the tang that has had some later modification for it's Ottoman life that can be easily remedied.
The rest of the pistol which came without a lock is brass mounted but has a good quality silver eared butt cap decorated with cast in trophies of arms.
All in all, this is a lovely early 18th century Gold inlaid quality pistol cannon barrel well worthy of a fabulous restoration project.
