Original Items: Only One Set Available. Complete sets like these rarely show up these days. This "high neck collar" Bobby tunic style was abandoned directly after WW2 and replaced with the "Lapel" style tunics that are still in use today.
This is the model uniform worn throughout the First World War and then through WW2. Our particular set comes from the County of Staffordshire quite close to Birmingham in England's
Midlands making it a choice target from both Zeppelins in WW1 and the Luftwaffe in WW2.
Set is comprised of the following-
Original Black tunic features two large breast pockets and two side pockets as well as epaulettes all secured with county marked uniform silver colored buttons bearing the county device. The stand up early Tunic collar bears the number of the individual Officer who was issued that uniform and ours is- 407
Original trousers with black tapes running down the outside of each leg. They are named in red ink to the interior BURFORD R. The Tunic bears a manufacturer's label in two locations, inside, below the waist, and in the neck indicating the Maker was JOHN HAMMOND AND CO. (1922) LTD, of NEWCASTLE, STAFFS. (Staffs is short for Staffordshire).
Original British Pattern ACME CITY WHISTLE complete with chain that is also marked KENT SPECIAL CONSTABULARY.
Bobby Helmet, bearing the Staffordshire County helmet plate is the early "rose top" pattern and is fitted with a blackened rose top mount required in WW2 to prevent reflecting to hostile aircraft overhead. The helmet retains the original leather band around the base of the exterior and it's original leather chinstrap. It is size 7 3/8 and in the crown has a label marked- WATERPROOF TROPICAL HELMET and E.W.VERO & CO., MANUFACTURERS, LONDON.
