Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a lovely inert cutaway example of a recent issue Chinese DFJ-87 35mm AP HEAT Round for the QLZ-87 automatic grenade launcher. One of several rounds available for the weapon system, it is dual purpose, being both a Armor Piercing and High Explosive Anti-Tank round. It has had all explosive content removed, and had the the main body of the round cutaway, as well as the nose cone and casing. The round is marked with the correct designation around the top:
DRJ/DF J87-35 ZH 2-16- 9624
The nose cone looks to have been glued in place originally, but it is loose now, so the round can still be taken apart with a bit of effort. A hard to find current issue round, ready to display!
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. The QLZ-87 (also known as Type 87) 35 mm automatic grenade launcher (AGL) is an air-cooled, gas operated fully automatic weapon and is crew transportable (12~20 kg) with limited amounts of ammunition. Unusual for handheld grenade launchers, the QLZ-87 fires 35x32 mmSR high-velocity grenades, which provides longer range and flatter firing trajectory.
