Original Item: Only One Available. An excellent example of a WWII Australian Issue Machete, often referred to as a “Machete 15 Inch” in Australian Army parlance. Beautifully marked with a DD Broadarrow and dated 1944. These machetes, especially in this condition, are quite difficult to find on this side of the globe.
This machete is blade marked with “D (broadarrow) D” with “DC-1945” underneath. The DC indicates that this particular example was fabricated by Die Casters Pty Ltd of Melbourne. The machete itself is in beautiful condition, still exhibiting a gorgeous blued finish, original sharpened edge (devoid of nicks!). The original plastic grip scales are in excellent condition, unbroken, and only showing slight wear from handling over the decades.
The sheath is an original all leather version. It is in solid, wonderful condition but does show wear. There is a legible manufacturer markings present on the belt loop which indicates 1944 manufacture by Rob Colid Montreal.
An excellent example that would be quite difficult to upgrade from! Ready for display!
