Original Soviet WWII Red Army Armor Artillery Officer’s Wool Greatcoat

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Now this is a lovely example of a service worn Soviet Red Army Officer’s Greatcoat. The coat itself does show signs of extensive use and wear, most likely on the Eastern Front early on in the war. Even by Russian standards, the weather on the Eastern Front was brutal. Temperatures plunged to -40 degrees in places, freezing German tanks and equipment, shutting down diesel engines and freezing German soldiers who were not equipped with coats, hats, proper boots, gloves, or anything necessary to fight a winter campaign.

This wool greatcoat was once of the many methods soldiers used to keep themselves as warm as they could. A greatcoat is a large, woolen overcoat designed for warmth and protection against wind and weather, and features a collar that can be turned up and cuffs that can be turned down to protect the face and the hands.

This example is in wonderful condition aside from the very noticeable fading present. The collar tabs are black with red (raspberry borders) indicating Armor Artillery units. All buttons appear to be present and still retains their original black paint.

Comes ready for further research and display.
