Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a Rifled Musket that no one has ever heard of and to a point ever seen. Manufactured at The CARL GUSTAV factory in Sweden in 1860 and known as the "WREDE" Rifle, these are exceptionally rare! Almost all of those produced were within a year or two converted to breach loading, and in 1867 were being replaced by the Swedish Remington Rolling Block Rifle. Definitely a very short window of time for production, and almost all were converted and discarded.
Here we have the earliest version of the Percussion Wrede Rifle in 12.17mm or .48 Caliber, still in the original muzzle-loaded configuration. Marked with a Crown over "C" on top of the breech, showing it was manufactured at the Carl Gustav factory. It features brass butt plate and trigger guard with iron barrel bands. The barrel is 34" in length and measures 49 1/2" overall.
In very nice condition this bears the VERY LOW Serial number of just "24" on most components of the rifle.
Very hard to find and ready to display!
