Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. The Revolver M1882, also referred to by the name Model 1929, was a revolver produced in Switzerland by the Waffenfabrik Bern and which was used as an ordnance arm by the Swiss Army.
It was designed by Colonel Rudolph Schmidt The revolver was designed to use the black powder 7.5 millimeter round. The 1882 was a simple and effective design. Model 1882 with serial numbers under 20,000 were fitted with vulcanized rubber grips. Models with serial numbers over 20,000 had wood grips. Some were made by SIG.
The holster is very faintly maker-marked on the back:
J. BAUMCARTNER
BUNAT
Condition of the holster is very good with a lovely broken in look. The leather is still supple, and has a great brown color. There are loops for revolver cartridges under the flap, with canvas slots for 10 spare 7.5mm 1882 Ordnance rounds.
The stitching is mostly intact, with just a bit of popping in isolated areas, and it still retains the original white color well in areas. The securing strap is still intact, with no tearing. The leather shoulder strap is still present, as is the belt loop on the reverse side. The loops is a little stiff but the shoulder strap is still mostly solid and does appear to still be able to be adjusted.
A lovely example that comes more than ready for further research and display.
