  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very interesting Civil War era trainer bayonet which has a rounded tip meant for training purposes. It retains a US surcharge and is heavily oxidized. The socket measures .78” on the bottom and .768” on the top. We aren’t sure what firearm this was meant to attach to.

The bayonet measures 18⅞” in overall length with a 15¼” blade. The bending of the tip is more akin to the style of M-1912 Springfield Fencing Trainer Bayonet without its leather cover. Perhaps this example was once leather-bound, but we’ll never be able to know.

A very interesting variation, ready for further research and display.

    Specifications:
    Blade Length: 15 1/4"
    Blade Style: Practice
    Overall length: 18 7/8“
    Crossguard: 2¼"
