Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available Manufactured in exactly the same way as its bigger brothers designed for The Colt Navy and Army Percussion Revolvers, this holster is made from top grade leather with all of its original stitching still intact and tight. It was designed to be worn "Butt Forward" on the right hip for use with the left hand, the right hand being reserved for the Officer's Sword.
The flap has a long securing strap which in this case has the closing stud hole very near to the flap indicating this original revolver used with this particular was truly of small size. It could easily be made bigger for a larger small revolver by creating a second stud hole further along the 4" strap if desired.
A true Civil War Military style holster of this 1860 period is very hard to find in remarkably good somewhat used condition. It does have some cracking in the finish, and a little tearing on the top of the flap, but the typical Civil War holsters we see are usually far worse. Ready to add to your U.S. Civil War collection!
