Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a WWII U.S. Navy Officer "Complete" Cap, also called the "Combination" cap. Naval officers wore a variety of different colored uniforms in service, for different locations and occasions, so a cap was designed that could utilize various removable covers to match the uniform. The standard colors were White, Khaki, Navy Blue, and Gray (not included). The U.S. Coast Guard also wore the same caps, however they used a different cap badge with a larger eagle and a single anchor instead of two.
This is a totally correct high quality genuine World War II U.S. Navy officers complete visor cap. It features a wonderful heavy high quality embroidered eagle cap badge, without the felt top visor bearing gold bullion Oak Leaf "Scrambled Egg" appointments due to this being for a “junior” officer and one not in total command. It has the correct gold bullion chin strap, secured by the correct naval buttons. The cap currently has a dark navy blue felt cover installed.
The visor still bears a written name and manufacturers stamp on the top celluloid piece:
