  • Original Item: Only One Available. Dating from the Indian Wars in the 1870s and 1880s, this is known as a Model 1876 Prairie Belt. It is a leather and webbed ammunition waist belt with a single prong, square brass buckle and corresponding leather tab with six punched holes. It was designed for the Springfield trapdoor rifles and carbines in .45-70 caliber.


    It is offered in very good condition wand is nicely stamped on the leather section with 36 / 34, the size it is intended to fit.  Overall dimensions are approximately 38" long by 2.25" wide. The leather of the belt shows some wear and deterioration, while the web portion looks pretty much unissued. A very nice example, ready to add to your Indian Wars collection!
