Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a Korean War issue Officer's visor cap, in Tropical Khaki issue color, as used by U.S. Army Officers. This peaked cap features a gold tone WWII Army Overseas insignia over a leather visor. It features fiber band construction and a leather sweatband which is in very good shape. With very little sign of use, this is definitely a great example.
The cap is marked on the underside of the sweatband with CAP SERVICE TROPICAL WORSTED KHAKI OFFICERS, with the contract, pattern, and manufacturer information stamped underneath. This cap was made by PHILADELPHIA UNIFORM CO., based on the 1951 Pattern. It still retains the original size marking of 7 1/8 at the rear of the sweatband, along with additional contract information. It has a metal support for the front insignia, and still retains the original foam rubber stiffener to maintain the shape of the cap.
A great example, ready to display!
