  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a lovely stitched leather belt for a member of the Lorraine Fire Company, which we have not found a lot of information on. From the belt’s construction and adornments, we believe it dates from the mid-to-late 19th century, but we haven’t been able to find evidence of a Lorraine fire company existing during this period.

The belt is attached via a small buckle which is still intact. Much of the finish of the belt is wearing away. The side has a small attached 1 in a Shield denoting the 1st Fire Company, next to LORRAINE. The belt in its current folded shape is roughly 16” in length. It’s fairly stiff so we haven't tried to pry it apart.

A very interesting example, perfect for any Firefighting collection. Ready for further research and display.
