Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very scarce model of tunic, the M1902 Cotton service tunic. Most collectors associate the M1902 with the gorgeous dark blue dress uniforms, but these cotton examples are much more difficult to find. This example bears the rates for a Battery Quartermaster Sergeant, with a Gunner’s shell insignia under one of the rates. The interior of the tunic bears the name Wm. Drukker, for Quartermaster Sergeant William Drukker. We have not found much on his service, making for a great research project.
The tunic also has inspection stamps on the interior, with the name and rank of the inspector, 1st Lieutenant James W. Furlow, stamped on. There is sweat staining from use, and the stitching all looks in good order. All of the scarce rimless buttons on the uniform are retained and it displays rather beautifully.
The rates are all period-applied, and the tunic is in great shape overall. These are very difficult to find in any condition, let alone named and with insignia. Comes ready for further research and display!
