Item Description
Original Replica Item: Only One available. Company director Christian Cranmer remembers seeing Want Ads for Colt Revolvers weighing over FOUR Pounds as a kid in the 1950's Little did he then realize how BIG a four pound revolver would be. Originally made in 1847 for the TEXAS RANGERS of the U.S.M.R., only about 220 were ever made and those still existing today could go for a Million Dollars!!!!
This is a 20th century reproduction in virtually mint condition, offered "in the white". These revolvers became synonymous with the Army's United States Mounted Rifles units, often termed "Dragoons." Very few however actually were made with the U.S.M.R. marking engraved on the cylinder. The replica revolver is marked on most parts with serial number 1917. It also has US / 1947 marked on the right side of the barrel.
Still percussion and fully operational. I feel sorry for any circa Texas Ranger who had to carry one of these around quite apart from actually firing it! Full cylinder engraving, not requiring an FFL in most all States.
Ready to display as one of the rarest of all the Colt production revolvers!
