Original U.S. Revolutionary War Committee of Safety Musket Assembled from Captured Parts

Item Description

Original Item: Only one Available. Sometimes incredibly rare items just turn up from nowhere! This, for us, is one of those times. We got a phone call and it walked through the door! What we got was an untouched U.S. Revolutionary War Committee of Safety Musket, ordered to be constructed by our founding Fathers to help expel the British Occupation of its American Colonies in the 1770's.

This musket is correctly marked on the left side of the stock with a U.S. in a circle. It has what we believe to be a French Charleville 44 1/2" barrel, and it has an overall length of 60". The musket is all iron mounted with three barrel bands, side plate, trigger guard and butt plate. The lock is clearly of BRITISH origin being marked with a CROWN over G.R. and DUBLIN / CASTLE across the lock plate tail. The frizzen spring is the earlier pre-Revolutionary War British issue of the 1760's with its characteristic design. It comes with an all steel ram Rod.

It has been in the same family for untold eons right here in New Jersey and only came to light in the last couple of years when the family's patriarch died. This is the real thing, underrated at the time, an emergency Revolutionary War measure to keep the resistance to the British going.

I doubt we'll see another, we can only hope there is still treasure "out there".

In nice ancient matured condition truly ready to display!
