Original U.S. Union Arms Police Pocket Percussion Revolver named to N.Y. City Officer - Serial 265

Item Description

Original Item: One of a Kind. This is a very handsome colt-style named pocket percussion revolver, measuring 9" in overall length with a 4" round .31 Caliber barrel. It was made in the mid 19th century by the Union Arms Company of New York, and is marked UNION ARMS CO. N.Y. on the top of the barrel. The revolver is "all-matching", with serial number 265 stamped onto the frame, cylinder, barrel, loading rammer, and barrel wedge.

The frame has some very nice scroll engraving and the iron back strap of the grip is engraved with the owner's name:-

DET. PETER POTTS. N.Y. CITY.

In really nice collector's condition dating from the 1860's. Fully functional, though as with any revolver of this age, it can be finicky at times. Bore shows lands and grooves but also powder fouling.

A very nice piece of New York City Police history. Ready research and display!
