The M83 Illuminating Cartridge (ILL) was a pyrotechnic parachute flare shell used in night missions requiring illumination for assistance in observation. This is a nice Vietnam War 1967 dated example designed for use with the U.S. 60mm M2 Mortar. It features the correct FUZE TIME M65A1 dated 7-67, and M2 propellant charge, marked WMZ - 2 - 14 - 67 - 60MM M2.
This example is offered in very good condition, with original markings stamped into the body, and looks to have been repainted white for display. Measures approximately 14 1/2 inches in length.
A great chance to pick up a scarce Vietnam War deactivated mortar shell!
