Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. This is one of the most phenomenal pairs of boots we have ever offered, a mint unissued set of Vietnam War “Okinawa” boots, the Army’s first attempt at a modern jungle boot. These boots are basically WWII Double Buckle boots that have been redesigned with canvas parts for tropical climates. The boots are often seen worn by early advisers who departed for Vietnam from Okinawa, hence the name. This is the most perfect pair of Vietnam War boots this writer has seen in 30 years of collecting.
These boots are dated 1962 under the flap, making them an early Vietnam War issue, but this pair was luckily spared from those horrific conditions. The boots are also size 10 R, which is stamped next to the date under the flap. It is extremely difficult to find such a common size in this condition, as most pairs unissued would be in a strange size. Both shoes retain their shoelaces which are tied and in great condition. The buckles are great with the grommets retaining almost all of their brown paint. There is virtually nothing you could do to improve on this set.
The rubber heels are in great shape, manufactured by Goodyear. The stitching is all intact and basically perfect. These are not upgradable, and are the nicest set we have ever seen. Don’t miss it!
