Original Item: Only One Available. Now this is a beauty! A lovely, issued “Rifle Green” Special Forces beret. This example shows signs of honest wear and use and is present without any extensive damage.
The flash on the front is for the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne). Only those personnel who were assigned to the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) are authorized to wear this flash, which is placed on the green beret so that it is positioned directly above the left eye when the beret is properly. Enlisted personnel wear the Special Forces Regimental Distinctive Insignia centered on the flash, while Officers center their non-subdued rank insignia on it.
Approved on 27 June 1967, the 20th Special Forces Group flash features a teal background, a red diagonal stripe, and a white border, while the Group’s oval—approved almost twenty years later on 18 May 1987—uses the national colors of red, white, and blue and has a gold border.
The beret is in wonderful condition and does show signs of wear, but no abuse and presents itself quite nicely. The markings present are extremely faint and can barely be read.
