Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice original 25 inch forend stock for the Model 1895 "Military Rifle". This model was the last lever action repeater developed for by John Browning for Winchester. It also was the strongest action ever used on a Winchester lever rifle, and it was designed to withstand the higher pressure / power of smokeless powder. Instead of a tube magazine, it utilized a box magazine under the action.
Between 1915 and 1917 approximately 294,000 M1895's were manufactured for the airforce and police units of the Russian Empire, accounting for about 70% of total production. These were all in the "military rifle" configuration, with a full length fore stock, and that is the rifle that this stock is from.
It is in very good service used condition, with a lovely color and glow. There are some grafted in wood repairs on the sides, but no major structural issues. It measures 25 inches long, not counting the beveled portions at the end.
