Item Description
Original Item: One-of-a-kind. William E. Hershey army serial number 3482093 was a member of the Third Army 310th Motor Transport Corps who served in World War One. The Motor Transport Corps (M.T.C.) was formed out of the Quartermaster Corps on 15 August 1918, by General Order No. 75. Men needed to staff this new corps were recruited from the skilled tradesmen working for automotive manufacturers in the US.
This fantastic named grouping consists of the following items:
U.S. WWI issue wool uniform tunic named to W. Hershey in excellent condition with Third Army patch on left shoulder and motor transport collar tab.
U.S. WWI issue M1917 helmet with wonderful hand painted Third Army insignia to front, complete with liner and chinstrap.
William E. Hershey 3482093 dog tags.
German WWI watch (does not current work) with original leather wrist strap - RARE!
