Item Description
Original Item: One set available. This is an excellent unissued condition original WWII marked and dated OD green #3 canvas double magazine pouch, complete with two original issue M1 Carbine 15-round magazines. While originally designed as a belt pouch, it was found that it could slip over the front of the M1 Carbine, and then would stop around the butt of the rifle. Here it could be used to keep magazines close at hand, which is why they are so often called "butt pouches" for the M1 carbine.
The front of this pouch is properly U.S. marked, and the back is stamped AVERY 1943 a rare maker mark. The "blacked" brass "lift-the-dot" snap has the correct "S in triangle" marking often found on period snaps. Condition is excellent, with no wear from storage or damage.
The two included magazines were definitely used a bit, but are in very good condition. One is marked U for Union Hardware, while the other is marked with IU in a circle, for manufacturer Underwood. Both appear serviceable.
An excellent opportunity to outfit your WWII M1 Carbine with WWII-made accessories. Ready to add to your collection!
