Original U.S. WWII 7x50 M15 Binoculars with Coated Optics in M24 Leather Case

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This are excellent condition fully functional WWII M15 7x50 binoculars with clear optics. These were originally the standard black finish, but they were repainted during or post war with OD Green paint, for a better camouflage profile. The binoculars are nicely marked on both end plates:

On the Right Side:

BINOCULAR, M15
STOCK NO. 7578143

On the Left:

7X50

Most likely there was originally a warning about "coated optics" on the left side, which was usually applied as a decal. This set of binoculars definitely has coated optics, but the label is missing, probably due to the binoculars having been repainted OD Green. The binoculars also have serial NO. 5477 on the center hinge pivot. Both diopter adjustments rotate smoothly, though they are a bit easy to move, as the grease on the threads has dried out. Overall condition is very good, with just some dirt and light wear. The optics could also use a good cleaning, and the original neck strap is unfortunately missing, easily replaced.

The included leather covered case is marked CASE, CARRYING, M24 on the lid, with stock number D 45874 stamped on the side under the lid. The case is original, but definitely has condition issues. The front closure strap has torn off, and the leather "hinge" on the back has torn in some places, though it still is functional. The shoulder strap is present, but broken just above the case on one side. This is definitely a case that saw a lot of service.

All in all a great example of U.S. WWII Binoculars, complete with its original case. Ready for use or display!
