Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This are excellent condition fully functional WWII M15 7x50 binoculars with clear optics. They feature the standard black textured finish with gloss black fittings. This set still comes complete with rubber eye cups, which are equipped with swing-out green sun filters, which were often lost or "appropriated." The binoculars are nicely marked on both end plates:
On the Right Side:
BINOCULAR, M15
STOCK NO. 7578145
On the Left:
THIS INSTRUMENT HAS
"COATED OPTICS"
CLEAN LENSES CAREFULLY
7X50
The binoculars also have serial NO. 17966 on the center hinge pivot. Both diopter adjustments rotate smoothly, though they are a bit easy to move, as the grease on the threads has dried out. Overall condition is very good, with just some dirt and light wear. The optics could also use a good cleaning.
The included leather covered case is marked CASE, CARRYING, M44 on the lid, with stock number D-43813 stamped on the side under the lid. THe case is original, but definitely has condition issues. The front closure strap has torn through, and the leather "hinge" on the back has had the stitching pull out completely, so the lid is not attached to the case anymore. The shoulder strap is present, but broken and tied together, and in relatively delicate condition. This is definitely a case that saw a lot of service.
All in all a great example of U.S. WWII Binoculars, complete with eye cups and sun filters in its original case. Ready for use or display!
