Original Item: Only One Available. This is a rare U.S. WWII Army Air Corp Type D-2 Breathing Oxygen with khaki carrying case. The Type D-2 oxygen tanks were used in B-17 Bombers. This type of tank is known as a "walk-around" tank. If the Bombardier needed to get back to the Tail Gunner. He would disconnect his oxygen at his station and connect the D-2 tank to walk to the rear of the bomber. The D-2 was essentially used by any crew member to move about the plane. The D-2 tank is yellow colored. It is well marked. It has black stencil lettering on the side of the tank. It reads:

The head of the cylinder has a A-13 regulator with a pounds per square inch gauge. There is a yellow war department tag attached with a string. This D-2 oxygen breathing tanks comes with a khaki colored case that the cylinder slips into. It has tie straps and an adjustable shoulder strap. The case is well marked and reads:
