Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a very nice WWII U.S. Army Air Forces practice bomb, which after service was stripped and chrome plated to serve as a display piece. These were originally used for practice bombing runs, as well as testing the accuracy of bomb sighting. They were very popular items to take home, as unguided aerial bombs rapidly became a thing of the past after WWII.
Overall it measures 22 1/2 inches long and just over 4 inches wide at the base of the fin assembly. Condition is very good, with the chrome plating well retained, and no major dents or other issues. It still retains the original hanging loop on the top, so it could be hung from an appropriately strong mounting. This can be removed if desired.
A great piece of memorabilia from WWII, ready to display!
