  • Original Item. Only One Available. The Telescope Mount M35 and Telescope M31 are used for aiming in azimuth. The Telescope Mount M35 has deflection and elevation motions. Deflection is read on a deflection scale and micrometer, but there is no provision for reading elevation, as none is required for the type of fire in which this telescope and telescope mount are used.

    This is a great example of an M35 Elbow Telescope complete in its original transit chest. The interior of the chest has the Table of Contents for the chest, which is likely missing some parts. The telescope retains the attachment piece as well as the leather cup cover for the lens. The data plate for the telescope reads:

    The rubber pieces show some heavy wear but the set has been well-preserved. The transit chest measures 28 x 17 x 8” and is in fair condition overall with damage to the wood. The top of the chest reads:

    The transit chest is marked with Serial Number 4165, making this a great matching set! The leather handle on the case is heavily worn and we would not recommend carrying it by this handle! A very interesting telescope in its original case, ready for further research and display.
