Item Description
Original Items: Only One Available. This is a very nice U.S. WWII Unit-Marked Medic Shoulder bag, as issued to many medical units during the war. It is the correct Early-Mid war OD Green #3, which in some places has faded to an almost tan color. The bag measures about 13 x 10 x 3 inches, with snap closure. The front flap bears a very nice unit marking around the medic "Red Cross" emblem:
NANTICOKE
AMBULANCE
(RED CROSS)
F. A. UNIT
We were not able to locate much on this actual unit, making this an excellent research opportunity. Nanticoke is an area in Pennsylvania. Bag is in very nice shape, with working snaps and zippers, and just a bit of fading to the exterior. Ready to display!
Combat medics are among the most desirable of all WWII U.S. army items due to their selfless heroic service and scarcity due to the high number of casualties. This set is unique and stunning in what this soldier experienced both on the field of combat and in the prison camps he saw towards to the close of World War Two.
