Original U.S. WWII Fort Monmouth Special Services School “Sad Sack” Painted G.I. Christmas Show Artwork - 16 x 21½”

Regular price $195.00

Item Description

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a great piece of artwork painted for a Christmas G.I. Musical Revue put on by the Special Services School at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey during World War II. The poster is missing pieces off of the top and bottom as shown with some tearing throughout. This poster would be a great candidate for restoration, or to frame as is. The art measures roughly 16 x 21½”.

The artwork announces “Christmas Capers”, a G.I. Musical Revue, with guest stars and Girls. Sad Sack, a well-known Army cartoon character, dances in Drag as an NCO in a Santa suit holding a pistol and trench knife prepares to climb up and stop him. A very nice piece of WWII artwork. The show was meant to take place on December 17th in Theatre No. 2, but there is no year, although it’s likely sometime from 1941-1945.

A fantastic piece of artwork, ready for framing and display!
