Original Item: Only One Available: This a very rare fully functional (and loud) U.S. WWII Hand Crank Air Raid Siren. It is maker marked on the reverse:

Constructed predominately of aluminum with integral one piece carry handle and crank handle. These were originally painted OD green, however the paint does not stick to the aluminum very well, so most of the paint on this example is missing. Also the mesh surrounding the vent holes has been removed.
Shown below is another example we sold previously, which sounds just the same, though this example does not have the rare cover and sling:
These sirens were used for Air Raids and possible Gas Attacks both during combat situations and on the Home Front. This mobile handheld version is the hardest to find of any WWII siren. We do not see these often at all, and this is only the second U.S. hand siren we have had!
