Item Description
Original Items: Only Very Few Available. These are nice used examples of the web sling used on the U.S. M1 Carbine, a lightweight, easy to use, .30 caliber (7.62 mm) semi-automatic carbine that was a standard firearm for the U.S. military during World War II, the Korean War and well into the Vietnam War.
The design is a bit unconventional, in that the rear end of the sling is not attached to a swivel, but instead is passed through a hole in the stock and held in place by the steel oiler for the carbine. The rear end of the sling is held in a loop by the steel keeper, which is often lost over time. The front end of the sling attaches to a sling swivel using the lift the dot snap to make a loop. Overall length is approximately 50 inches long, and 1 inch wide.
These examples are in good, serviceable condition, but definitely does show some wear from service. They are stained and do have areas of oxidation on all metal components. The lift-the dots are functional, and the slings still have both pinched steel ends intact. The blacked brass finish on the snaps vary.
