Original Item: Only One Available. Totally inert and demilitarized according to BATF guidelines. This practice rifle grenade cannot be converted to an explosive device and is not available for export.
This is a nice WWII M11 Practice Rifle Grenade, which was the practice version of the M9 anti-tank grenade. It consists of a cast iron head and a sheet metal tail assembly. The M9 was the first U.S. anti-tank grenade. Although it used a shape charge warhead, the nose mounted impact fuze reduced its effectiveness. This also had problems with reliable detonation. These were only produced for about two years after its introduction in 1940. Measures approximately 9.2" long and 2" in diameter.
The warhead unscrews from the base so that the interior can be inspected. There are a few small rust holes present on the warhead. Much of the original paint has been retained though the white stenciling is no longer able to be read.
A very nice example, ready to display!
