Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice original WWII inert M6AA rocket for the U.S. WWII 2.36 inch M1 / M1A1 Bazooka. The 2.36" rocket consists of a head, a stabilizer tube, and tail. The rocket is totally inert and complies with standards outlined by BATF and is not available for export.
The inert rocket measures approximately 22 inches long and has been repainted OD green. The warhead and fin assembly still unscrew, allowing the interior to be inspected. The rocket does not have any maker marks, just a few letters stamped onto the center portion where it meets the warhead. There are dents on the cone and one of the fins is broken off. This was more than likely recovered from the battlefield and restored.
The M6A1 was the second projectile designed for the M1 and M1A1 bazooka family. The original M6 was notoriously unreliable, both with the launch and detonation. The M6A1 had improved fuze and ignition designs to help get rid of this problem. The rocket was eventually replaced with the round headed M6A3, which had a blunt head, which was intended to help prevent deflection off of armor.
A great display piece from the WWII Era!
