Original U.S. WWII M7A1 Anti-Tank Practice Rocket for the M1 and M1A1 2.36 Inch Bazooka Launcher - Inert

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice original WWII inert M7A1 rocket for the U.S. WWII 2.36 inch M1 / M1A1 Bazooka. Normally, the 2.36" rocket consists of a head, a stabilizer tube, and tail, with a stabilizer on the interior for balance to compensate for the lack of explosives. This example no longer unscrews, so we are not able to see if it has the stabilizer. The rocket is totally inert and complies with standards outlined by BATF and is not available for export.

The inert rocket measures approximately 22 inches long and has not been repainted OD green like we so often see. The rocket does not have any clear maker markings, but there are some letters we can still see stamped in various locations. There are no dents on the cone and all the fins are present and undamaged. The rocket was repainted black at some point, covering any stenciling if there was one present. The M7A1 rocket is nearly identical to the M6A1 with the only difference being the lack of an explosive charge in the M7A1.

The M6A1 was the second projectile designed for the M1 and M1A1 bazooka family. The original M6 was notoriously unreliable, both with the launch and detonation. The M6A1 had improved fuze and ignition designs to help get rid of this problem. The rocket was eventually replaced with the round headed M6A3, which had a blunt head, which was intended to help prevent deflection off of armor.

A great display piece from the WWII Era!
